This paper explains the status of the microcomputer relay simulation,and presents the method of the microcomputer relay simulation based on substation simulation system. It describes the whole design scheme of microcomputer relay simulation, it is detailed that the software design ideology of microcomputer relay module and the man - machine interface （MMI）, and the analog experience result of the microcomputer relay etc.
