The World is Broad

“世界是平的”,正是由于科技的进步让我们发出这样的感慨。而随着信息通信技术的不断发展与进步,我们越来越发现:“世界是宽的。”曾几何时,我们的生活圈是如此有限,日常生话仅仅是围绕着家乡的小镇或村庄,朋友就居住在路旁,而工作地点亦是咫尺之遥。然而现如今,由于技术的进步,我们可以身居巴西却为伦敦的公司工作,瞬间获得全新的自我;我们以网会天下,结识不同语言、不同肤色的来自五湖四海的朋友;任何人都可以成为电影明星,发行个人专辑甚至成为全球收视的喜剧演员……在刚刚落下帷幕的2007宽带世界论坛亚洲会议上,我们真真切切地感受到了宽带的力量,更听到了“世界是平的,也是宽的”的最强音。在宽带业务爆炸性增长的推动下,在ICT产业大发展的今天,我们正以迅疾和创新的步伐迈向更加宽广、更加迅捷的宽带我世界、信息新世界。

With the constant development and progress of information technology, we find that the world is very spacious. In the past, our living perimeter is so limited that routine life is confined to small towns and villages. Our friends resided in the neighborhood and the working place is just in the vicinity. However, for technological progress, we may work for a London-based company when we are in Brazil. We can make friends with people of different complexions and languages through the Internet. Any people can be TV stars and circulate personal album. This is the result of the boosting of the explosive growth of broadband business and the leap-forward development of ICT industry.
