An Analysis of the Regional Differences of Manpower in China and their Effects

我国东、中、西部人力资本存量、质量和积累能力均存在显著差异,西部状况最差。人力资本的总体劣势深刻影响西部经济增长速度提高、就业率提高、产业布局改善和贫困人口脱贫问题。加大对人力资本的投资目前成为西部经济发展总要解决的问题。

There are many reasons that cause differences between regions, the essential of which might be the different importance each attaches to the manpower capital. This paper compares the status of the east China, central China and West China by choosing some relative indexes, and analyzes effects the differences have made in building up a harmonious economic development between regions.
