The urbanization process is important impetus in the modern economic and social development. The paper evaluates the present situation of urbanization development in Enshi Prefecture. The author analyses the opportunities and challenges quickening the urbanization process of Enshi Prefecture, and makes some suggestions about how to change and implement the urbanization strategy of Enshi Prefecture in the new period.
