The Explanation of the Western Modernity and the Western Aesthetic Modernity

由于研究角度和关注点的不同,西方学者对西方现代性的特性有不同的阐释,但他们主要关注其断裂、理性化和反思性特征。实际上,反传统、理性化和反思性是西方现代性的基本特征,它们影响了西方现代审美思想和现代美学流派的发展,并使其呈现出反叛西方审美传统、反对工具理性和反思西方审美局限的特征。

The western scholars have different explanation to the western modernity due to different perspectives. However, among their main concerns are the features of rupture, rationality and reflection. As a matter of fact, anti-tradition, rationality and reflection are the typical features of the western modernity, which assumes the properties of betrayal of the western aesthetic tradition, the tool-rational and reflection onto the western aesthetic limitation and hence greatly influences the development of the western aesthetic modernity as well as the approaches of the modern aesthetics.
