The specific lexical explanation rules in Shigu,Shiyan,and Shixun mainly includes explanation model of several meanings under the same item,explanation by using common or colloquial language,explanation by employing the original and loan meaning,explanation of ancient characters by modern characters,and explanation of figurative meaning in specific context.
