The Importance of Literature in Language Teaching

本文从课堂教学的角度论述了文学、文化与外语教学之间的联系,认为文学教学既培养了文学欣赏能力,又为培养语言能力打下了基础。因此,文学教学对于学习语言文化知识,促进整体外语教学具有举足轻重的作用。

When teaching English in China,it is very important to take culture background into the activities.Since literature and culture are the very necessary means to foster the appreciation of both language and culture and train the students to have the solid foundations in competence.The conclusion is reached that we can not separate literature and language teaching in class in China.
