Rethinking of Translation in a Post-colonial Context

自20世纪80年代以来,传统意义上的殖民体系已瓦解,而后进入一个新的殖民时期——文化殖民即后殖民主义时期。在这种语境下,翻译作为文化信息传播的一种工具,我们应对这一术语的既定含义做出新的理解和阐释,从而更有效地发挥翻译的功能,为翻译学这一新兴的尚不成熟的边缘学科的理论构建提供有益的补充,并为我国的文化建设提供有力的支持与保障。

After traditional colonialization system has collapsed since 1980＇ s, a new colonial period post- colonialism also called cultural colonialization came into being. Under the post - colonial context, translation, as a tool for transmitting cultural information, should be given a new definition and understanding so that the function of translation can be effectively unfolded. At the same time, it will provide a supplement for immature translation studies and safeguard for Chinese cultural construction.
