On Internationalism in Deng Xiaoping's Thoughts of Foreign Affairs

邓小平外交思想的核心是国家利益至上原则,但也有其国际主义的一面。其主要特点是提倡非中心主义,践行消极的国际主义,强调国际责任;其主要表现包括国际政治新秩序主张、反对霸权主义原则和“搁置主权、共同开发”国际合作观念。

Although the core of Deng Xiaoping＇s Thoughts of Foreign Affairs is the principle of national interests, they also contain an aspect of internationalism. The main features of Deng＇s internationalism include： ＂no leadership in the international communist movement ＂; providing international aids in low profile; and emphasis on international responsibility. These thoughts are expressed mainly in his views on building a new political and economic world order, his stand of opposing hegemonism, and his advocation for international cooperation on the principle of ＂put aside sovereignty disputes and engage in joint exploitation＂.
