Personality Within the Poems and Affairs Beyond the Poems On the Cases of the Poetic History of the Qing Dynasty Based on the Comparison Between the two Editions of the Poems Collection in the Qing Dynasty

沈德潜在遴选清代前期诗歌时,十分强调“诗中有人,诗外有事”。得到其特别重视的“贰臣”诗人的入选作品尤其体现了这一原则。通过这些诗人及其作品,也可见清代诗歌创作与时势人心的密切关系,而诗史互证、以诗见史、因史明诗,则为清诗研究中不可忽略的组成部分。

Shen Deqian took “personality with the poems, and affairs beyond the poems” as the most important rule in selecting the poems of the “traitor poets” for the Poems Collection in the Qing Dynasty. The principle was fully embodied from the selected poems of the “traitor poets” who were payed more attention to by him. We can see the intimate connection between the poems writing and the current situation of the Qing Dynasty from the poets and their works. So the poems and the history testifying each other, catching a glimpse of the history from the poems, interpreting the poems from the history constitute an important part of the poetry study of the Qing Dynasty.
