African American Vernacular English(AAVE), though often stamped with a degraded mark, carries a tremendous power in shaping American culture. AAVE, .the headspring of black culture, has been given much research attention by linguists and sociologists. This paper, based on some fundamental features of AAVE such as Aspectual marker BE, negation, signifying and black slang, analyzes the "black taste" embedded between classical black American movie lines. It advocates that as a well-established English.variety, AAVE with its unique linguistic framework and abundant cultural elements holds a significant place in the study of the evolution of America's multi-cultural society.
