摘要
汉英语言中都有大量的委婉语被用于掩饰“死”这个人类最基本的客观事实。文中从宗教信仰、等级差别、价值观念探讨了汉英死亡委婉语的生成。
Many euphemistic words are used both in Chinese and English as milder expressions for the tough fact ＂death＂. This paper discusses the origins of such expressions from several aspects, i.e. religious belief, class differences and values.
