T. S. Eliot＇ s Four Quartets reflects his sense of nativeness, i.e., the imprint of America and American culture. Though Eliot does not become a native poet like Whitman and W. C. Williams, Four Quartets can be labeled with ＂Made in America＂ - it reflects the influence of American philosophy and contains a series of distinctive images of American native lands. This paper focuses on digging out the philosophical thoughts representing American culture and poetic images of America, thus proving that the sense of nativeness plays a significant role in Eliot＇ s Four Quartets.
