On Ba Jin's Sense of Repentance

卢梭与托尔斯泰对巴金忏悔意识的形成有至深影响,但因巴金独特的生活经历、性格特征和思考方面的特征,其忏悔意识的表现,不仅与西方作家,而且与鲁迅、郭沫若等中国现代作家,都有着很大的不同。巴金忏悔意识的性质处在“忏悔的人”与“人的忏悔”之间,体现了属于中国那代知识分子所特有的思想与人格特征;同时也反映了中国知识分子在社会强力下的某种心态。

Rousseau and Tolstoy had a deep impact on the formation of Ba Jin＇s sense of repentance,＇ but due to Ba Jin＇s unique life experiences, personal characteristics and special thoughts, the expression of his sense of repentance is quite different not only from that of the Western writers, but also from that of the modern Chinese writers such as Lu Xun and Guo Morno. The nature of Ba Jin＇s sense of repentance is between ＂the repentant person＂ and ＂person＇s repentance＂, which embodies the unique characteristics of the thoughts and personality of the Chinese intellectuals of that time, and at the same time, reflects a certain state of mentality of the Chinese intellectuals under the social pressure.
