Bamboo and rattan are important framework materials with traditional and modern characteristics, which are often used in floral design. The paper discusses the origin of bamboo and rattan framework and the connotation of bamboo and rattan culture in China, with focus on the functions of bamboo and rattan frame- work in supporting structure, artistic shape, structural space and artistic conception of modern floral design.
