The Political History Tradition of China Ancient Historiography

中国古代史书的主要内容是政治史,不论在记载人物、事件还是典章制度方面都有充分的表现,并形成了以帝王为中心的政治史结构。其形成和延续的原因有三:政治是中国古代社会最显著、最重要的现象;政府管理史学;以史为政价值观念的支配。

That the political history with the emperors as the center was the main contents of China ancient history showed in the records of biographies, historical events, and political systems. There were three reasons for this kind of characteristics： Firstly, politics was the most important phenomenon in China ancient society; secondly, the center government supervised the history compiling; thirdly, there was a view that history should serve for politics.
