摘要
IEEE802.16系列标准定义了WiMAX的无线空中接口,尽管标准详细的定义了MAC层信号机制,但并没有一套完整的资源管理调度机制,而资源管理和调度是影响QoS性能的重要部分。本文首先简要介绍了IEEE802.16协议,分析了其QoS机制的主要内容,包括带宽的请求分配机制,准入和调度机制等。然后提出了一套有效的QoS框架,主要包括准入控制策略和上行调度策略。为了让不同业务的QoS得到保证,文章重点探讨了多优先级公平队列算法(MPFQ),通过这套机制,可以为不同级别的业务提供不同等级的QoS服务。
IEEE 802.16 standard defines the air interface specifications for broadband access in wireless metropolitan area networks. Although the MAC signaling has been well-defined in the IEEE802.16 specifications, resource management and scheduling, which are crucial components to guarantee QoS performance, still are open issues. This paper introduces IEEE808.16 protocol and analyzes the main part of the QoS mechanism including the request and allocation mechanism of bandwidth, the admission and scheduling mechanism. Then an efficient QoS architecture is proposed mainly including admission control policy and scheduling algorithm for IEEE 802.16. In order to guarantee the QoS for multimedia services, the paper puts emphasis on the discussion of multi-class priority fair queuing (MPFQ) algorithm, which can provide different QoS guarantees for various applications.
