The lead - zinc mine tailings were used as filler in damping materials in this work. The comprehensive use of lead - zinc tailings and the filler which were commonly used in the preparation of damping materials were discussed, and the feasibility of the preparation of damping materials for lead - zinc mine tailings was analyzed, too. It indicated that it can make use of the waste and not only protect the ecological environment but also get a new environmental functional material in this way, and it accord with the cycle economic conception.
