A modified with a Haidinger Brush afterimage was developed to measure the orientation of eccentric fixation in amblyopia. A Haidinger Brush image was projected onto a specific point that was overlaid with a patching disk on the side using a reflection-ransmission mirror. The patching disk protected the fovea when high-intensity light suppressed and bleached the eccentric fixation point of the retina. Flickering light increased the duration of the afterimage. Central fixation was stimulated by projecting the afterimage on detailed near work such as reading or sewing. This equipment can be used for eccentric fixation testing in amblyopia, especially in large-angle eccentric fixation. The equipment is high quality and the image is easily induced in the clinic to test eccentrically fixating amblyopia patients.
