This paper gives an account of the genetic classification and origin of ferro manganese crust base in the seamount areas,and analyses not only the time space distribution and research situations of the ferro manganese crust base but also the origin,evolution and present nature of the base.And it also puts forward an establishment of quinary base genetic classification for the ferro manganese crusts,which is of great theoretical and practical significance in the field of mineral deposits study.
