《主客图》白派及门弟子徐凝述论

XU Ning: Disciple of Bai School in the Hosts and Guests

在唐诗史上,徐凝并非十分显眼,甚至至今还没有一篇专论他的文章。不过,唐末批评家兼诗人张为在其《主客图》中留意到了徐凝,将他列为白派之及门弟子。出于元白诗派研究的需要,这一定位这一判断值得加以具体论证。根据有关文献,结合徐凝的作品风格及其与白居易、元稹的交游情况,我认为,《主客图》将徐凝划为白派及门,大体上是符合实际的。

XU Ning is not well-known in the poetic history of the Tang Dynasty, not even having been discussed by any single academic thesis. ZHANG Wei, a critic and poet towards the end of the Tang Dynasty, however, mentioned XU Ning in his The Hosts and Guests and identified him as a disciple of the Bai School. To further our study of the Yuan Bai School, it is necessary to expound and illustrate this identification and judgment. According to my study of relevant literature, XU Ning＇ s works, and his relations with Bai Ju-yi and YUAN Zhen, I believe that it is reasonable for Zhan Wei to identify XU Ning as a disciple of Bai School in The Hosts and Guests.
