Concerning the Entertaining Function of the Ci Poetry of the Tang and Song Dynasties

作为当时的流行歌曲,唐宋词表现出诸多异于传统诗文的"另类"特质和社会功能,其中,娱乐功能便是唐宋词所具有的特殊社会功能之一。唐宋词的娱乐功能具有全民化和重感官享乐的特点,它的形成和发展,不仅表现出宋人对文艺本质特征的重新认识和再发掘,也在一定程度上体现了人性的觉醒和人类社会的进步。

As the popular songs in the ancient time, the ci poetry of the Tang and Song Dynasties showed some ＂odd＂ characteristics and social functions which were totally different from the other traditional poetry and articles. Among them, the entertaining function, one of the specific social functions, could be found in the whole country, and focused on the sense enjoyment. Not only did its formation and evolution reflect a new understanding and discovering on the artistic essential features, but also it gave expression to a wake of humanity and the social progress to a certain extent.
