Two Issues about Culture Essence and Culture Manifestation

有两种定义文化的方式,一种视文化为某一特殊社会生活方式的整体,一种指文化以民族精神和气质为核心。文化的实质在人存在的基础、民族心理基础和终极归宿观上体现出来。中西文化以不同的方式构造现实,表现在文化生产上也有显著不同。

There are two possible forms to define culture: one is that culture is the integrity of some special styles of social life. The other is that the ethos is the soul of a culture. The essence of culture is reflected on the existence of human, on the psychological basis of an ethnic group, and on the ultimate sense of belonging. Chinese culture and western culture have different ways to construct reality and also prominently differ from their culture production.
