Correlation between Waist to Height Ratio and Blood Pressure in Children

摘要 目的 探讨儿童腰围/身高比(WHtR)与血压的关系,评估WHtR对儿童高血压的预测价值。方法 对贵阳市2个城区3550名(8~12岁)儿童进行身高、腰围(WC)、臀围及高血压的抽样调查,分析WHtR与血压的相关性,所获资料均进行统计学处理。结果 1.贵阳市儿童WHtR有明显的年龄和性别特征,高血压组WHtR高于正常血压组,差异有统计学意义(P〈0.05);控制年龄、性别、身高影响的偏相关分析显示,WHtR与收缩压(SBP)及舒张压(DBP)呈显著正相关(r=0.1929,0.0878P。〈0.01)。2.WHtR与WC呈显著正相关(r=0.9347P〈0.01),其与身高的相关性较WC与身高的相关性明显减弱(r=0.0494,0.3950P〈0.05,〈0.01)。结论 WHtR计算简单,与WC高度相关;受其身高影响小,可作为儿童高血压患病风险的预测指标。 Objective To study the association between waist circumference to height ratio(WHtR) and childhood blood pressure and also evaluate the predictive value of WHtR to childhood hypertension. Methods The 3 550 school students aged 8 to 12 years old in Guiyang city were sampled and surveyed for height,waist ciroumference( WC), hip circumference, and blood pressure. The association of WHtR and blood pressure was studied. All data were processed statistically. Results 1. The distribution characteristics of WHtR were significantly different in both sexes and different age groups. WHtR in hypertension group was significantly higher than that in normotensive group( P 〈0.05 ). Partial correlation analysis showed that after age and sex were adjusted WHtR were correlated positively with both systolic pressum(SBP) and diastolic pressure(DBP) ( r = 0. 192 9,0. 087 8 Pa 〈0.01 ). 2. WHtR was correlated positively with WC ( r =0. 934 7 P 〈 0.01 ). The correlativity of WHtR to stature was lower than that of WC significantly( r = 0. 049 4 vs r = 0. 395 0 P 〈 0.05,0.01 ). Conclusion WHtR is significantly correlated with WC, which is less affected by stature. Therefore,it can be used as an effective predictor for the risks of hypertension in children.
