摘要
英国著名小说家和诗人托马斯.哈代(1840-1928)创作的《德伯家的苔丝》小说的副标题称苔丝是"一个纯洁的女人",这其中的"纯洁"二字,引出不少争议。哈代之所以固守着苔丝的纯洁,这与他是一个批判现实主义作家有着根本的关系。
Thomas Hardy（ 1840- 1928）, a remarkable English writer and poet, has written his novel Tess of the D＇Urbervilles with a subtifle＂a pure woman＂ which evokes great controversy among its readers. The reason that Hardy held up the purity of Tess is because he is a writter of critical realistic.
