From "Thinking to Change" to "Changing the Thinking"——On the Development of the Modern Public Sphere in China

近代中国公共领域在挑战中应运而生。从意识到“变”的必要性到致力于变革技术,从主张变法到主张变体,从制度革新到思想文化领域的巨变,近代中国公共领域走过了曲折的历程。虽然近代中国公共领域有着某些先天不足,但它对于当代中国公共领域依然有着很强的借鉴意义。

Modern public sphere in China emerged as the times required. As its going ahead, zigzag road is noticeable： from waking up to the necessity of transformation to taking up with technological innovation, from political evolution to political revolution, from reforming system to altering the field of thought and culture. With inborn deficiencies, although, modern public sphere in China has very important lessons for contemporary counterpart in China to draw from.
