叶剑英在西安事变这一重大的历史事件中,充当了重要的历史角色,发挥了重要的历史作用。在西安事变前,叶剑英在东北军、西北军中积极开展统战工作,推动了“西安事变”的发生,而后,他又在西安事变和平解决中发挥了重要作用。

Ye Jianying has played an important historic role in dealing with Xi＇an Incident. Before the incident, he worked actively for the united front in the Northeast Army and the Northwest Army to promote the occurance of the incident. After the incident, he assisted the peaceful settlement of it.
