The main bridge of Qipanshan Bird Island Bridge in Shenyang City is a symmetric single tower cable-stayed bridge with the span layout being 100＋100 m. There are horizontal cables between the double-direction inclined pylons along the axes of the bridge. It provides a new structure style in the design of tower form. Firstly, the design concept of the main bridge is introduced, and then emphasis is put upon the design ways of improving the rigidity of symmetric single tower cable-stayed bridge. Last, some key problems in the construction are introduced.
