The problems and the solutions of paper machine room ventilation of the project（1989） of Shixian paper mill are introduced, the current situation of paper machine room ventilation of the project（2001） of the mill and the reasons of good ventilation of the paper machine room are summarized. The protection structures and ventilation methods required for preventing condensing in a large newsprint machine room in the northern cold area are discussed in detail.
