郭玉堂与《洛阳出土石刻时地记》

Guo Yutang and The Time and Place Records of Stone Inscriptions Unearthed in Luoyang

郭玉堂是近代洛阳文化名人,民国时期受聘为北平图书馆名誉调查员和故宫博物院考古采访员。他为张钫收集墓志石刻千余块,保存于新安县铁门镇“千唐志斋”。20世纪前半叶,洛阳出土历代墓志碑刻约3000件,被誉为“石刻史书”。期间地下每有发现,郭玉堂即亲赴现场调查记录,著《洛阳出土石刻时地记》,以存其真,为后人留下了一份珍贵的原始资料。

Guo Yutang was a famous cultural scholar in Luoyang in modem times. In the period of the Public of China, he was an investigator of Beiping library and archaeological reporter of the library of the imperial palace. He collected about a thousand stone inscriptions of epitaph, stored in the Qiantangzhi Zhal in Tiemen Town, Xinan County. In the first half of 20th century, around three thousand epitaph inscriptions were unearthed in Luoyang and renowned as the ＂history of stone Inscriptions＂. During this period, whenever there was an archaeological finding, Guo Yutang went to the site for field investigation and keeping records, and he wrote The Time and Place Records of Stone Inscriptions Unearthed in Luoyang to preserve the originality and left behind him a treasure of documentation.
