在沃尔夫冈.伊塞尔和汉斯、赫伯特的接受理论中,读者是文本接受历史的决定性因素和主体,读者的先在理解和期待视野直接影响着其对文本的理解和接受。在现代大学英语教学中,作为接受英语知识的主体——大学生,他们思想活泼,心理活动活跃,自我表现欲强,因此,把接受理论,尤其是接受理论中的“空白”“期待视野”等内容运用到大学英语教学中有提升大学生能动作用,激发大学生创造力,增强教育教学效果的作用。
