An Exploration of Notion of Generalist Education at the Beginning of Republic of China

国民政府时期大学教育的主导思想是通才教育,通才教育思想是在与专才教育思想不断冲突中形成的,这个形成过程集中体现在当时高等教育政策的制定和高等教育思想的论争之中。

The dominant thought of higher education at the time of Republic of China was that of generalist education. The idea of the generalist education was formulated in the process of its conflict with the specialist education thought. The formulation process was mainly reflected in the setting up of the then higher education policies and in the debate on the higher education thought.
