模式化是通俗小说意义自成所必然采取的手段,也是近年来通俗小说的创作特点和风格特征。近年来通俗小说"模式化"特征集中显示在情节格式和人物造型上。就情节格式而言,近年来通俗小说大都是一种"故事化"的叙述类型;模式化在人物塑造上的体现是类型化和扁平型人物形象的出现,类型化和扁平型人物的根本特性是单纯、明确。所有这些都适应了通俗小说大众化、娱乐性的艺术特质与创作功能。

To modelize is an inevitable means by which popular novels will stand. It is also the character and style of popular novels in the recent past. Such features are mainly realized in plots and characterization. In plots, popular novels are becoming more storilized, in characterization, more fiat and stereotyped characters emerged. Such characters are simple and explicit. All these agree with such intended functions of poplar novels as popularization, recreation and appreciation.
