北京奥运语言环境建设研究——北京市双语交通指示牌调查分析

Language surroudings construction for Beijing Olympic Games——A survey of the bilingual traffic signs in Beijing

北京市作为2008年奥运会主办城市,在外语语言环境建设、消除语言交流障碍方面做了大量工作,包括培养市民外语能力,提高外语人口,营造外语环境。在交通系统,主要是设置双语道路指示牌。由于双语指示牌的设置牵涉到的不仅仅是交通系统,因此不可避免地出现了一些问题。针对这些问题尤其是这种做法是否合适,很多学者以及国家相关管理部门发表了意见。通过分析存在的问题以及城市文化因素来看双语指示牌的影响和未来发展趋势,并对具体问题提出建议。

As the Olympic Games sponsor in 2008,Beijing government has done massive work on the environmental construction of foreign language,the elimination of language interaction barriers,including raising the residential foreign language ability,enhancing the foreign language population and building the foreign language environment.Establishment of bilingual traffic signs is mainly needed in the transportation system and that inevitably has caused some problems.Lots of scholars as well as some management departmenets have given their opinions on these problems,especially on whether it is appropriate.By analyzing those current problems and cultural factors of cities,this article observed the influence and future development tendency of bilingual traffic signs,and also put forward several proposals on some concrete measures.
