Conrad is dedicated to the innovation of artistic form. With the application of musical forms such as word music, structural and imaginary content analogies to music and musical techniques such as counterpoint and fugue pattern, Conrad musicalizes his fiction in such three aspects as linguistic configuration, narrative structure and narrative tone, thus making his novel writing the real art by his own criterion.
