在高校开放办学和网络教育较普及的教育阶段,高职高专英语教师要想从根本上提高学生的整体素质,培养学生的人文精神,增强英语教学的实用能力,首先,应做好从“以教师为中心”到“以学生为中心”的转变;其次,从“以应试为目标的教育”到“以能力培养为目标的教育”的转变;正确引导学生面对考试,改变“哑巴英语”现象,提高学生的综合素质和能力。

In the period of open - door managements of colleges and universities and more popularity of internet education, if the English teachers in vocational and technical colleges and universities want to upgrade the students＇ all- round qualities, cultivate the students＇ humanity spirits, strengthen practical abilityin English, they should： first, transform ＂the teacher center＂ into ＂ the student center＂ and second, transform ＂ taking examinations to be education goal＂ into＂ cultivating abilities to be education goal＂. To conduct the students correctly to face the examinations we should change the phenomenon of ＂dumb English＂ to improve the students＇ integrated qualities and abilities.
