摘要
第三系及其以上地层中广泛存在着大量由陆生高等植物所产生的植物硅酸体。由于源自不同植物的硅酸体具有不同的形态类型组合,因此沉积物中硅酸体组合的研究,不仅可以划分对比地层,而且可通过古植被恢复来探讨古生态环境,这方面的作用在第四纪地质研究中已得到成功的应用。此外。
There are plenty of phytoliths came from higher plants in the sediments of Tertiary and Quaternary. Because the phytoliths sourced from different plants with different morphologic assemblages, not only the strata can be divided and correlated but also the paleoclimates can be restored with the recoveries of paleobotanic communities by the analyses of stratigraphic phytoliths. In the way, a lot of works have been done in the research of Quaternary geology. In addition, the studies of isotope geochemistry of organic carbon in phytoliths can make the dissections of geologicages and paleoclimates quantitative.
