The Yi minority is a people with ancient history in southwestern China. It abounds with rich ancient works Yi scripts and profound traditional culture. The social harmonious principle in their traditional culture comes from the simple materialist concept that heaven, earth and person unite as one. Their worship of the nature not only shows their awareness as well as specific demands and measures of environmental protection. The traditional culture of Yi group also attaches great importance to harmonious relationship between people, as is reflected in brotherhood awareness, social structure, ethical education and the woman＇s rights of Yi group.
