Combined with the problems of the ununiform settlements met in the subgrade and pavement in transition section of the highway and bridge, it is analyzed and presented that structure design must secure the foundation conditions and subgrade conditions in transition section of the highway and bridge. The study of the soft soil base treatment at the bridge abutment must be strengthened and the suitable stability and settlement measures of the bridge abutment and bridge head must be chosen.
