The paper analysed the ups and downs of the woman volleyball teams of Brazil, Russia, Italy and China in recent 20 years and pointed out the tactics and techniques that were crucial for a powerful volleyball team, so as to provide reference for the performance of the Chinese woman volleyball team in the 2008 Olympic Games .
