On the Village Culture and the Construction of Local Custom Civilization

乡风文明是建设社会主义新农村的灵魂。村落文化是乡风文明建设的重要背景和现实基础,它在乡风文明建设中具有双重作用。在乡风文明建设中,我们要重视村落文化的作用,以先进的文化引导村落文化,提高农民现代文明素质,从而促进乡风文明发展。

The local custom civilization is the soul of constructing new socialist countryside. The village culture, playing dual roles, is the important background and practical foundation of the construction of local custom civilization. Therefore, in the construction of local custom civilization, firstly more attention should be paid to the roles of the village culture; secondly to take advantage of the advanced culture to lead the village culture ; thirdly to improve the villagers＇ civilized quality; and finally to promote the development of local cus- tom civilization.
