江泽民对毛泽东党内思想建设理论在地位、根本任务和方法途径等方面进行了重大的理论创新。具体表现在始终坚持把思想建设放在党的建设的首位并赋予其新的时代内容;把党内思想建设的根本任务创新性概括为“三个代表”;把党内思想建设的方法创新性总结为“三讲”教育。

Jiang Zemin has carried on the significant innovation about the intra-party ideology construction from the aspects of its position, basic task and method. The concrete representations are as following： insistence on the principal importance of ideology construction with the new contents of the time; “three represents theory” as the basic task of intra-party＇s ideology construction and “three stresses education” （to stress theoretical study, political awareness and good conduct） as the basic route to intra-party ideology construetion.
