摘要
PowerPoint软件自1980年代中开发以来,日臻完善,已成为人们在公众场合下信息传递时喜用的演示手段之一,但学术界对此褒贬不一。本文在回顾其历史发展以后,对两种意见进行了介绍和分析,认为利大于弊。出现不同意见的原因在于有些学者不能区分作为工具的PowerPoint软件,作为语篇的PowerPoint演示文稿,和作为语类的PowerPoint演示形式。其次,持反对意见者,忽略了演示者与PowerPoint演示文稿的互动,和演示者与受众的互动。第三,作为语类的PowerPoint可以因人、因事、因时、因地,而融合成多种文体风格。
The software of PowerPoint has kept improving itself since it was developed in mid-1980 and has become one of the popular demonstrating means for information transmission in public places. However, opinions about it differ in academic circles. After a review of its history and an analysis of the controversy, the author concludes that its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. The controversy results from the fact that some scholars can not discriminate between the software PowerPoint as a tool, the demonstration text of PowerPoint as discourse and the demonstration form of PowerPoint as genre. Secondly, those who hold opposite ideas fail to see the interaction between the demonstrator and the demonstration text of PowerPoint and the interaction between the demonstrator and the audience. Thirdly, the PowerPoint as genre may integrate into various genre styles.
