The works of Austrian writer Ingeborg Backmann are elegant in form and profound in meaning. However, they contain a wide range of complicated and obscure images. Her artistic creation is richly contextualized, and bears close relevance to her life experience and her gift for art. This paper focuses on the literary dialogues between Backmann and her contemporaries in an attempt to discuss the relationship between such dialogues and her literary creation.
