Being able to observe the distribution of a drug candidate in a targeted tissue sample helps scientists to better assess the potential value of the compound as a pharmaceutical entity. A novel technique called mass spectrometry tissue imaging provides this information, and an account is provided of the visualization of difference regions within rat and mouse tissues in which candidate drug compounds were located.
