语言符号任意性和象似性:相互排斥还是相互依存?——与王寅先生商榷

语言符号任意性和象似性这两种观点之间的争论由来已久。本文对王寅《象似性辩证说优于任意性支配说》一文提出商榷。讨论主要涉及索绪尔语言符号任意性到底是什么，任意性概念的提出是否缺乏社会现实基础以及任意性与象似性的关系，目的在于澄清对索绪尔语言理论的误解，并且提出我们的看法。

This paper is intended to respond to the issues raised in Wang Yin＇s recent article appearing in Foreign Languages and Their Teaching as to whether the theory of iconicity is superior to that of arbitrariness. It is mainly concerned with the defining of arbitrariness of the linguistic sign,its social nature, and its relation with iconicity. It aims to clarify some misinterpretations and presents our position as well.
