According to the provisions of the cument code of seismic design of buildings (GBJ11-89) and on the premise of corresponding to the fundamental conditions, this paper utilises coefficients to calculate the horizontal earthquack actions and shear forces of stories for masonry struclures, brickworks with inside frame structure at first floor and brickworks with inside frame structure by deriving formulas of horizontal earthquack actions and shear forces for multi-story building, with the coefficients list for design use. Meanwhile, the simplified formulas of calculating earthquack actions and shear froces are given for frame structures and frame-seismic wall structures.
