摘要
Autarchy and City-state are two opinions about the form of state in Xia Dynasty,both of which have theoretical defect.Based on the Noble-state theory,a viewpoint about the formation of ancient state offered by a Germany Scholar Roman Herzog,we analyze the results of archaeology and ancient literature about Xia Dynasty,then we conclude that Xia Dynasty is not only an independent noble dominion unit,but also a state which represents the central regime and reigns over the other noble dominion units.The formation of Xia has positive effect on ancient civilizations of China and ancient state development.
