The plan of America's aid to Nepal in the early period of the cold war——the Rose's plan

1947年美国与尼泊尔正式建交。1951年美国正式启动对尼援助计划,并成为第一个向尼泊尔提供援助的国家。冷战初期,美国对尼发展援助项目主要集中在农业方面,而对尼援助的根本目的就是维护非共产党势力掌权,避免尼泊尔倒向社会主义阵营。但是,受制于诸多原因,该计划的实施不是很成功。

In 1947 ,the formal relations between the U.S and Nepal was established. In 1951 ,the U.S. formally initiated its plan of aid to Nepal,and became the first country to offer the aid to Nepal.In the early period of the Cold War,the America＇s programs of development aid to Nepal were mainly in the field of agriculture, its fundamental objectives were to maintain the non-communist＇s party in power,thus avoiding Nepal to stand in line with the socialist bloc.However, being influenced by many factors,the practice of this plan in this period was unsuccessful.
