摘要
汉、英语中都有表示数量的范畴,区别在于汉语量词独立成类,英语中在名词之下有一个次分类表数量。通过对汉英量词(该文只指名量词)分类的分析,发现只有个体量词属汉语特有。该文解释了"量词"译成英语的译法,重在强调英汉量词系统的差异。
A quantitative category exists both in Chinese and in English. In Chinese the quantifier （classifier） is an independent word class while in English it is a sub - classification of the noun. By contrastive analysis, we find that Chinese is characterized by the classifier which reveals the Chinese distinctive cognition. Besides, the English translation of Liangci shows the differences between Chinese and English quantitative systems.
